A: WETT stands for Wood Energy Technology Transfer. A WETT inspection may be requested by your insurance company to ensure a wood stove or fireplace meets the current safety standards. We measure a lot of distances to combustibles and compare them to industry standards. The standards change from time to time, so if you have a wood stove more than 25 years old, there is a good chance that it no longer meets the current standards. We can advise you on the deficiencies and tell you what needs to be done to make it safe again.
